Twitter has slapped a new label on President Trump’s tweets, addressing his false claims that he won the presidential election.
“Official sources called this election differently,” the new label reads, linking to a Nov. 10 post that declares former Vice President Joe Biden the winner. Between Thursday and Monday, the label has been applied to five of the President’s tweets.
The move follows larger efforts by Twitter to crack down on election misinformation. In October, the company announced that it would be applying a new “civic integrity policy” on its platform, with the goal of preventing election interference, including voter suppression and premature declarations of victory.
