The recession brought on by the coronavirus pandemic has had a clear bright spot in the resilient housing market.
Local markets are heating up as the demand for affordable homes soars against the backdrop of very tight supply, resulting in a competitive climate and rising prices.
A report by PropertyClub laid out the best cities for investors looking for deals on rental properties in 2020. PropertyClub analysts looked at employment recovery since the height of the pandemic (April 2020 through August 2020), annual population growth, and the change in home prices from September 2019 through August 2020. Only cities with a population over 250,000 were considered.
Per PropertyClub, the best city for investors to target for rentals in 2020 is Atlanta, Georgia.
There are three major contributing factors that brought this city to the top of the list. Andrew Weinberger, the CEO of PropertyClub, told Business Insider that Atlanta is a strong choice due to its growing population, strong job market, and affordable homes.
