We probably don’t need to tell you that the Duggars have a lot of crazy ideas when it comes to gender roles.
Women are expected to birth and raise whole litters of human beings, but are seldom allowed to participated in such “manly” activities as working outside the home, wearing pants, or participating in unauthorized physical activity.
And that’s not our sly way of referencing the Duggars’ ban on premarital sex.
Most types of manual labor and virtually all sports are off limits to Duggar women, as well.
But leave it to the family’s resident rebel, Jinger Duggar, to mess with the established order of things.
In his youth, Jinger’s husband, Jeremy Vuolo, pursued a career as a professional soccer player.
He made it quite far, playing goalkeeper for the New York Red Bulls and San Antonio Scorpions, both of the Major League Soccer organization.
But when Jeremy’s soccer career was cut short, he turned his attention to what he considers to be his true calling — leading worship services.
And that’s how the Vuolos wound up in Los Angeles, where Jeremy is currently attending dvinity school.
