On Thursday, Microsoft announced that its workplace chat app Teams now has over 13 million daily active users.
In January, Slack — which recently went public — reported that it has over 10 million active users.
Microsoft also announced new features for Teams, including priority notifications, announcements, a time clock, read receipts, and cross-channel posting.

Microsoft says its workplace collaboration app Teams is growing faster than Slack — now valued at over $17 billion on the public markets — and for the first time, it’s revealing how many people use the app daily.
On Thursday, Microsoft announced that Teams has over 13 million daily active users. In comparison, Slack, which went public in June, reported in January that it has over 10 million daily active users. Importantly, Slack has not publicly updated its daily active user count since January, so this number may have grown since then.
